The Lessing Society has published the Lessing Yearbook since 1969 (as of 2002: Lessing Yearbook/Jahrbuch). Scholars from around the world publish articles presenting the results of their research in this journal, and it includes an extensive set of reviews that provide a critical overview of recent publications on Lessing and the German Enlightenment. Within international German Studies, it has earned the reputation as one of the most highly regarded venues for research into the Enlightenment. It has been published (since Volume XXIX in 1997) by the Wallstein Verlag (Göttingen).

In conjunction with the Yearbook, the Lessing Society also publishes numerous volumes of Conference Papers that are recognized as milestones of Lessing scholarship and trendsetters in the development of the contemporary image of Lessing.

Submitted manuscripts are reviewed by members of the Editorial Board.
